The IPN remembers Pearl Harbor on the 80th anniversary of the attack
Tuesday, 7 December 2021 marks the 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, the moment that thrust United States into World War II. On the occasion of the anniversary, President of the IPN Karol Nawrocki, Ph.D., has ordered a commemorative wreath to be laid at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial Hawai'i. A special feature about Polish-American brotherhood in arms authored by Karol Nawrocki has appeared in various language versions.
A tribute to the victims of communism – Washington D.C., 2 December 2021
During his stay in Washington, the President of the Institute of National Remembrance, Karol Nawrocki, Ph.D. met with representatives of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation and laid a wreath at the Victims of Communism Memorial statue. The President of the IPN was accompanied by the Polish Ambassador to the US, Marek Magierowski.

The Cross of Freedom and Solidarity is a sign of gratitude for those who, through their struggle against the communist system in the years 1956—1989, contributed to Poland regaining freedom after half a century of dependence on the Soviet Union.
Moldavian journalists visiting the Institute of National Remembrance - Warsaw, 29 November 2021
A group of Moldovan journalists met with specialists from the Institute of National Remembrance on 29 November 2021 as part of a study tour coordinated by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was held at the IPN’s “History Point” Educational Center in Warsaw.
The unveiling of a plaque commemorating Chaim Yisroel Eiss – a member of the “Ładoś Group”; 22 November 2021, Ustrzyki Dolne, Poland
The President of the Institute of National Remembrance, Karol Nawrocki, Ph.D., has unveiled a plaque commemorating Chaim Yisroel Eiss, a member of the so called “Ładoś Group” which organized and produced illegal Latin American passports during World War II. These documents significantly increased the chances of their Jewish holders survival in the territories, occupied by the German Reich.

On 8 November 2021, the President of the IPN, Karol Nawrocki, Ph.D., together with the Deputy President Karol Polejowski, Ph.D., visited Lviv. The first point of the visit was laying flowers at the Cemetery of the Defenders of Lwów.
International scientific conference „La contribution des Polonais dans la lutte contre les deux totalitarismes en Pologne et en Occident (1939–1945)” – „The Contribution of Poles to the Fight Against Two Totalitarian Regimes in Poland and Western Europe (1939–1945)” – Paris, 16–17 November 2021
The conference has been organised by the IPN’s Historical Research Office, jointly with the Historical and Literary Society in Paris. It will be held in the Polish Library in Paris on 16–17 November.
Representatives of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency visited the IPN on 30 November 2021
The Deputy President of the IPN, Karol Polejowski, Ph.D. D.Sc. met with representatives of the DPAA (Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency) — a US Department of Defense government agency whose mission is to search for missing soldiers from the lists of prisoners of war (POW) or those missing in action (MIA).
COLLECTED CONTENT: Martial Law in Poland 1981—1983
13 December marks the anniversary of introduction of Martial Law in Poland. An authoritarian government, led by General Wojciech Jaruzelski and the Military Council of National Salvation (WRON), introduced severe political oppression in an attempt to crush political opposition in 1981.
