On 19 December  this year the Institute of National Remembrance hosted visitors from Smolensk. The visit has been organized at the initiative of the Consul General of Poland in Smolensk.

Rector of the Smolensk State University and Director of the Cemetery and Museum in Katyn were among the delegation, which met with Dr. Łukasz Kaminski, President of the Institute of National Remembrance and Dr. Andrzej Zawistowski , Director of the IPN's Public Education Office.

The meeting focused on commemorating the past, modern and interesting methods of teaching history and passing evidence-based knowledge to next generation.

Apart from visiting IPN the group also met with representatives of such institutions as the Council for the Protection of Memory of Combat and Martyrdom, the Warsaw Rising Museum and the European Network Remembrance and Solidarity.
