A visit of Grand Valley State University students to the IPN, July 23

On 23 July, the Institute of National Remembrance was visited by a group of students from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, USA. Eight first-year students came to Poland with their teacher - Prof. Gary D. Stark to learn about Polish history, and thus pass their first course in the subject.

During their visit to the IPN, the group of students was presented a lecture on modern Polish history (39-89 years) by the employee of IPN’s Public Education Office Przemysław Gasztold-Seń in the Janusz Kurtyka Educational Center, and then shown around the exhibition of "Jarocin in the lens of the security services." After visiting the Center at Marszałkowska, the group went to the headquarters of IPN to visit the archives. During it, the students also learned about the resources of the Institute of National Remembrance as well as the latest technologies in collecting, archiving, securing, and editing of documents. Visit to the Institute was completed by the screening of "The Siege" by Julian Bryan. Each student also received a gift of some of the most interesting English-language publications on the history of the Poland, published by the Institute of National Remembrance.
