On April 27, President of the Institute of National Remembrance dr Lukasz Kaminski met with President of the German Federal Archives - dr. Michael Hollmann. The meeting was also attended by directors and representatives of the IPN departments: Dariusz Gabrel - Director of the Chief Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation, dr Rafal Leskiewicz - Director of the Office for Preservation and Dissemination of Archival Records and dr Slawomir Kalbarczyk from the Public Education Office.
During the meeting, dr Kaminski presented the current activities of the Institute of National Remembrance in the area of collection and access to archival materials for research, education and investigative activity. Possibilities of cooperation between the Institute of National Remembrance and the Bundesarchiv were discussed in particular, concerning the exchange of materials and conducting archival research on the history of German occupation during World War II. Another important area of cooperation is the exchange of experiences related to digitization and electronic access to documents. After meeting with the President Kaminski President Hollmann took a tour of the archives of the IPN.
