On 25 April 2012 Dr. Łukasz Kamiński, the President of the Institute of National Remembrance met with representatives of the Russian State Archive of Contemporary History (RGANI) - Director Natalia Tomilina and archive specialists: Irina Kazarina and Mikhail Prozumenshchikov. The meeting concerned the exchange of archival documents between the institutions, which results from the cooperation agreement signed in March 2011.

After the meeting with the President of the IPN, the Russian delegation took part in a historical and archival seminar, which was held in Palczewo on 26 April. During the all-day meeting the RGANI representatives spoke about the history of the Polish-Russian relations and took part in discussions on archival cooperation. They also presented contents of archives of the Russian State Archive of Contemporary History.
