On 28-29 November 2011 the President of IPN Łukasz Kamiński along with the Deputy Director of the Public Education Office Władysław Bułhak and the PEO employee Piotr Gontarczyk met in Moscow with the representatives of the Russian National Archives of Contemporary History (RGANI). The visit in the archives was a result of the agreement dated 2 March 2011 which regards a scientific and research project concerning disclosing archival documents and using them to prepare a collection of documents under the working title “Polish – Soviet relations in the ’50 and ’60 of the XX century”.

During the Moscow visit President Kamiński met with the Polish Ambassador in Moscow – His Excellency Wojciech Zajączkowski, and took part in a meeting organised by the Polish Embassy, where he had a chance to meet and talk to prominent representatives of Russian scientific institutions dealing with contemporary history, among which were: Russian National Archive of Sociopolitical History, Museum of Russia’s Contemporary History and Memorial society, as well as with the representatives of the government of Russian Federation.

On 29 November President Kamiński laid flowers on the Lubyanka Square, under the Solovki Stone – the monument commemorating victims of political repressions.
