President of the Institute of National Remembrance, Łukasz Kamiński visited Chicago between 13 and 15 November. The President’s visit was related to the opening of an exhibition "The Phenomenon of Solidarity: Pictures from the History of Poland, 1980–1981" created by the Public Education Office in August of 2010, on the 30th anniversary of the forming of NSZZ “Solidarity” (Łukasz Kamiński is the author of the script for the exhibition).

The exhibition was already presented in August and September this year, in the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, in October in Columbia University in New York, and from 14 November it is open for viewing in Northeastern University in Chicago (Library Building, 5500 North St. Louis Avenue). The showing of the exhibition is possible thanks to the cooperation between the Institute of National Remembrance and the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago.

The grand opening in the presence of the President of the IPN took place on 14 November 2011 in the Northeastern Illinois University library. A short lecture about the history of NSZZ “Solidarity” was presented by Tomasz Kozłowski – an employee of the Public Education Office of the IPN. The exhibition is available for viewing at the Northeastern Illinois University until 28 November 2011.
