The official meeting, held at the Center of Polish Culture and European Dialogue in Ivano-Frankivsk was attended by Minister Jan Józef Kasprzyk - Head of the Office for War Veterans and Victims of Oppression, judge Bogusław Nizieński, Chairman of the Council for War Veterans and Victims of Oppression, Polish Consul in Lviv Rafał Kocot, historians from the Institute of National Remembrance Branch in Rzeszów headed by Dr Dariusz Iwaneczko, the Director of the Rzeszów branch and representatives of the Polish community abroad.
The inauguration began with official speeches and a lecture given by Dr Piotr Chmielowiec from the IPN’s Historical Research Office in Rzeszów. The lecture was devoted to the course of the September 1939 campaign in south-eastern Poland and defense plans based on the Dniester and Stryj rivers. Then Dr. Dariusz Dyląg from the Res Carpathica Association presented the Carpathian routes of the Black Brigade and the evacuation of Polish elites through the pass in Gorgany to Hungary.
The last point of the meeting was the presentation of the comic book " Wrzesień pułkownika Maczka” [ Colonel Maczek’s September] by Jakub Izdebski - Head of IPN’s National Education Office in Rzeszów. The meeting was also accompanied by the opening of the exhibition "Walka i cierpienie” [Fight and Suffering]."
