Presentation of the IPN’s publications devoted to six Independence Fathers on the occasion of the centenary of Poland’s regaining independence – Warsaw, 5 December 2018

Józef Piłsudski, Roman Dmowski, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Wincenty Witos and Ignacy Daszyński are among those who are forever inscribed into Polish history. Albums published by the IPN and devoted to them were presented at the IPN’s Educational Centre in Warsaw .

“This promotion has a special character, because it concerns the six outstanding politicians who, at the moment when the time of the decisive attempt came, were able to rise above divisions. They understood, being guided by the experiences of generations of Poles, that independence can only be achieved jointly,” emphasized the Director of the Historical Research Office of the IPN Prof. Włodzimierz Suleja during the presentation. ”Our intention was to meet today representatives of all political forces that sit in the Parliament of the Republic, so that they could share with us their reflections on the heroes of our publications and the hundredth anniversary of regaining independence. The relevant invitations have been sent out,” added prof. Suleja.

The representatives of the highest state authorities participated in the presentation of the latest IPN publications, including the Speaker of the Polish Senate Stanisław Karczewski and Deputy Speaker of the Polish Seym Ryszard Terlecki, as well as the President of the Law and Justice Party Jarosław Kaczyński.
