On 6 May 2024, the Central History Point of the Institute of National Remembrance named after the late President Lech Kaczynski and the IPN bookstore in a new location at 107 Marszalkowska Street were opened.

It is a place where we will combine tradition with modernity. It is a place meant to exchange ideas, talk and learn history in a modern way by using both traditional methods and the latest IT tools.

The Institute of National Remembrance is also the institute of our nation’s future, and I’m certain this Lech Kaczyński Central History Point will testify to it as a meeting place for expert historians, a venue for discussing history, a book store for our publications. … I believe the Point will become a sort of an omnichannel, integrating all aspects of the IPN work, from the Archive, to researchers, to cultural events, said the IPN President Karol Nawrocki during the opening the Central Point

During the opening of the IPN Central History Point a plaque dedicated to President Lech Kaczynski was unveiled. The ceremony was attended by the IPN President, Karol Nawrocki, Ph.D. As part of this event the IPN exhibition entitled Trails of Hope. The Odyssey of Freedom was presented to a broad audience.

Meeting the needs of history fans, the IPN head Karol Nawrocki established the New Technology Division, tasked with implementing solutions that will deliver historical content in new digital formats. We acquire and develop technologies that make it easier for historians to learn about and interpret recent history. We implement powerful IT tools, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning systems to better understand history and its contemporary audiences. We conduct a digital transformation of the resources of the Institute of National Remembrance and create materials available on mobile devices, and PCs, as well as in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). We want to arouse curiosity about Polish history through modern technology.

The New Technology Zone in the Central History Stop offers a lot of attractions. You will learn about all the projects and experience effective and engaging learning thanks to the use of modern technologies. What exactly are we talking about? We are talking about making the most of the potential of immersive historical education and learning about educational games and applications so that you can have the most fun and learn as effectively as possible.
