The new version of the "Warsaw Rising. City of Heroes" game premiered on GAMESCOM in Cologne on 24 August 2023.
Command a resistance unit going into battle with German troops. Collect ammunition and supplies, eliminate the enemy, and make sure your team survives. You won't change history - the Rising ultimately failed and the game does not say otherwise - but you can get into history and into the shoes of the people who made it. You can feel some of their triumphs and experience some of their failures over two very important months of their lives. Navigate your way in the 1944 Warsaw, patrol the streets, detect German positions, hit them and disappear, get their weapons and ammo, take POWs. The overall outcome being what it was, you can’t win the war, but you can win battles and survive.

Take command of a small resistance unit and confront German troops in occupied Warsaw. Take life-and-death decisions and lead your team over 63 days of the Warsaw Uprising. Make the best use of their unique skills in combat. Make sure they make it.

"Warsaw Rising. City of Heroes" is a tactical RPG in a graphic novel style, which emphasizes the harrowing events of August and September 1944 in Warsaw. Totally accurate in terms of the history, people and hardware, it makes highly educational software. The setting is dead on too: you will see the city landmarks of the time, and watch them being destroyed as the game progresses.
 
You begin on 1 August and fight through all 63 Rising days, getting history updates along the way. The missions to be accomplished are the same ones the Warsaw Insurgents carried out nearly 80 years ago, and to give you a better feel of those times, the designers threw in character photographs, IDs and posters. There’s also the Rising timeline to follow and play along.
