The meeting of the Polish-Ukrainian Forum of Historians - 27-30 March in Kraków

On the 27-30 March 2017, under the auspices of the Polish and Ukrainian Institutes of National Remembrance, another meeting of the Polish-Ukrainian Forum of Historians will be held in Kraków.

The forthcoming proceedings will focus on the Ukrainian aspect in the programme and ideology of the Polish underground and the Polish aspect in the programme and ideology of the Ukrainian underground.

During earlier meetings, the members of the Forum touched upon such issues as the Wolhynia Massacre and issues related to the activities of the Polish and Ukrainian underground in the areas of present-day Western Ukraine, during the Second World War. The historians further reviewed various Polish studies on Polish-Ukrainian relations in 1939-1947, and looked into problems of our joint 20th-century history.

The Forum was established in 2015 and consists of six historians, specialists in the field of Polish-Ukrainian relations from each of the countries. The years 1939-1947 constitute the principal timeframe for joint research.

The meetings of the Polish-Ukrainian Forum of Historians are held alternately in Poland and Ukraine.
