Workshops “International Tracing Service Digital Archive for Polish Scholars” – Warsaw, 12-16 September 2016

A 5-day workshop for scientists International Tracing Service Digital Archive for Polish Scholars has started today. It is organized by the Institute of National Remembrance, the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews and The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.

 

 

Apart from representatives of the organizers the workshop has been attended by, among others, researchers at the Jewish Historical Institute of Warsaw University, Adam Mickiewicz University, Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum, Polish Academy of Sciences Research Center for Holocaust Sciences and AAN.

 

 

Preparations for the organization of the workshops had been conducted for two years. According to the framework: POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews – had dealt with logistics and recruitment of participants; Holocaust Museum in Washington and IPN providing the content. The IPN Archive will hold classes with the participants during the three days of workshops.

From the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum the workshop will be attended by, among others, Paul A. Shapiro - director of the USHMM, an expert in the field of archives of Bad Arolsen.
