- (…) We should also recall those "Solidarity" activists who found themselves in places of isolation in Nowy Łupków or Uherce. Their actions contributed to the opening of this gate. Undoubtedly, it was also opened by representatives of artistic and alternative circles, who came here to find a substitute of freedom among the beauty of the Bieszczady region. The Monument to the People of Freedom and Solidarity in Wołosate depicts the history of the above mentioned people and their contribution to the opening wide of the gate of freedom to our Homeland. Thanks to them, Poland is a free and independent country inhabited by wonderful people who greatly value freedom.

I would like to congratulate everyone who contributed to the erection of this commemoration and I am proud that the Institute of National Remembrance, which significantly supported the creation of this work, could honor the people who, here in the Bieszczady Mountains, opened the gate of freedom and solidarity for our Homeland - Poland. - emphasized Karol Nawrocki, Ph.D.
