Within the Warsaw-Mokotów prison exploration work conducted by the Office of Search and Identification of the Institute of National Remembrance has started. This search is intended to locate burial sites of those executed and murdered in the years 1945-1956 in the detention site at 37 Rakowiecka Street in Warsaw.

The exploration work is directed by an archaeologist Jan Jagiełło under the supervision of the director of the Office of Search and Identification of the IPN Prof. Krzysztof Szwagrzyk. The team also involves employees of the Museum of the Accursed Soldiers and Political Prisoners of the PRL, which is to be located in the now liquidated detention site.
