A webinar on the topic of Polish-Ukrainian archival cooperation – 14 May 2021

On the eve of ‘Europe Day’, celebrated in Ukraine on 15 May and the 'Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repression' on 16 May, a webinar was held with the participation of representatives of the IPN Archive and the Regional State Archives in Khmelnytsky, Vinnytsia and Odessa

A webinar on the topic of Polish-Ukrainian archival cooperation – 14 May 2021

The Institute of National Remembrance was represented by the Deputy Directors of the IPN Archive, Mariusz Kwaśniak and Mariusz Żuławnik, Ph.D. and Dorota Lewsza, Ph.D. from the Division of Information and International Relations (Office of the President and Social Communication).
The Ukrainian side was represented by: the Director of the State Archives in Khmelnytsky, Kateryna Burduvalis, the Director of the State Archives in Vinnytsia, Yuriy Legun Ph.D., D.Sc. and the Director of the State Archives in Odessa, Petro Lukyanuk.

The meeting proved to be an excellent opportunity for summarizing previous cooperation and outlining future projects. Both sides declared their willingness to intensify their activities in the archival and educational fields, which had been inhibited by the pandemic situation in both countries.

During the webinar, the Head of the IT Department of the Khmelnytsky District Archives, Yuriy Oliynyk, Ph.D. and the Senior Researcher of the Department of Information Technologies of the Khmelnytsky District Archives, Vitaliy Galatir, Ph.D., delivered speeches on the historical context of Polish - Ukrainian cooperation and the process of rehabilitation of the victims in Ukraine.
