The Deputy President of the IPN is the person who more than anyone contributed to honouring the members of armed anti-communist resistance: his team found the remains of hundreds of them, and identified dozens. In doing so, Krzysztof Szwagrzyk spoiled the plans of the regime, which required that its executed enemies also be forgotten. Today, with streets and schools named after them, these soldiers are remembered and commemorated, while the system that tried to have them destroyed, has been destroyed itself.
