In June 1941, after the German attack on the USSR, Dobromil NKVD officers murdered at least several hundred prisoners of Polish and Ukrainian nationality. Part of the victims were previously held in prison in Przemyśl. They were killed with a hammer blow on the back of the head. The bodies were hidden in a salt mine in Łąck near Dobromil. The murder was one of the elements of a plan to evacuate Soviet prisons in those areas. The number of victims is unknown to this day.
On 27-28 April 2012 a March of Remembrance was organised on the route from Przemyśl to Salina near Dobromil. It has been prepared by the Branch of the Institute of National Remembrance in Rzeszów and the Mother of the Divine Providence of Nizankowice shrine (Ukraine). The aim of the March was to commemorate the victims of the tragic events of 1941.
The project was primarily aimed at students of secondary schools and students.
