On 24 August 2011, a day after the celebration of European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Totalitarian Regimes, a working meeting was held in the Institute of National Remembrance in which heads of European partner institutions dealing with totalitarian past took part. During the meeting the participants exchanged experiences and led a discussion about directions for closer cooperation. They discussed joint projects within initiatives such as the Platform of European Memory and Conscience and Global Network for the Study of Dictatorial Pasts and Genocidal Policies.
The meeting was attended by representatives of partner institutions from Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary.
