On the 80th anniversary of the Katyn Massacre, a virtual commemoration of the victims of this national tragedy was created on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda.

In a special message issued on this occasion, the President wrote: We, Poles, will always remember Katyn. We recall it now, on the 80th anniversary of the massacre, in a way different that planned - in the form of a virtual exhibition. Since, also in this particular time Katyn Romains a symbol without which the under standing of Polish history is impossible. Let us bow to the heroes of the free Republic of Poland. And let us pass on to the young generation of Poles their ethos and legacy - appealed the President.
The commemoration in the form of a virtual exhibition lists the names of officers of the Polish Army, soldiers of the Border Protection Corps, officers of the State Police and Prison Guard, officials and all other representatives of Polish intelligentsia, murdered by the Soviet regime and buried in the cemeteries in Bykovnya, Kharkiv, Katyn and Miednoye , and pays tribute to thousands of those murdered whose burial sites have not been found to this day.
Morover, a special website, created to commemorate the massacre of Polish officers in the Katyn forest during World War II and provide information on those tragic events, was launched by the office of the Polish President Andrzej Duda.
