Dr Mateusz Szpytma, Deputy President of the Institute of National Remembrance honoured with the Medal of Regained Independence

During the celebrations of the Polish National Independence Day, the President of Poland Andrzej Duda  awarded  Poles  for their outstanding service for the state and Polish society. The IPN's Deputy President Dr Mateusz Szpytma, a historian, co –creator of the Ulma Family Museum of Poles Saving Jews in World War II, was honoured with the Medal of the Centenary of Regained Independence.

During the ceremony at the Presidential Palace, the President emphasized that all of those honoured are great figures of Polish life in various fields. – Whether it be in artistic spheres such as acting, music or literature, they have all made great contributions to their homeland and its freedom and independence. By developing Polish science, through inventiveness, through theater, film and acting. Through everything that is so valuable to Poland. By serving other people, by building patriotic attitudes, by showing how to serve their country and people - said President Andrzej Duda.
