The President of the IPN, Dr Jarosław Szarek, will take part in the celebrations of the Polish National Independence Day organized by the Polish Community in the U.S. - 9-11 November 2019

The President of the Institute of National Remembrance Jarosław Szarek will open the IPN exhibition "Fathers of Independence" prepared for the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence, on Saturday 9 November in Detroit. On this day, a Holy Mass and various artistic performances are planned by the Poles living in Detroit.

 

On 10 November the representatives of the Institute of National Remembrance  will also take part in the celebrations on the occasion of Poland regaining its independence which are going to be taking place in Chicago. The IPN delegation will participate in a mass, see a special performance and attend a meeting in the St. Stanisław Kostka parish. President Jarosław Szarek will also take part in a special press conference.

On the day of Poland’s most important national holiday -11 November, the IPN delegation will participate in the celebrations at the Józef Piłsudski Institute of America in New York. Dr Szarek is going to give a lecture on the Marshal Józef Piłsudski and the activities of the former Piłsudki’s soldiers in the anti-communist resistance of the Polish People’s Republic.

 

 

The exhibition entitled "Fathers of Independence" presents six leaders of the fight for Poland in 1918: Józef Piłsudski, Roman Dmowski, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Wincenty Witos, Wojciech Korfanty and Ignacy Daszyński. It portrays over two-meter high silhouettes of the politicians with their biographical entries in Polish and English. It also contains a calendar of events concerning the most important stages of the Polish struggle for independence.
