The IPN ‘s statement regarding the search for witnesses of the events in Volhynia.

The Chief Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation Branch Office in Lublin is looking for victims and witnesses of the crime of genocide committed in the years 1939-1945 against Polish nationals living in the Volhynia Voivodship by members of the OUN-UPA and their accomplices.


The Chief Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation Branch Office in Lublin is investigating the genocide committed in the Volhynia province in 1939-1945 by members of the OUN-UPA and other co-participants, in particular the killings of tens of thousands of men, women and children of Polish nationality, as well as cases of physical and psychological abuse, the destruction or theft of their property, and the use of other forms of repression and inhuman acts to create living conditions leading to biological destruction or forcing them to leave their homes and escape from the areas of the Volhynia region. Other forms of human rights violations are also being investigated.

 We appeal to the victims, their family members, witnesses and all who have information about the crime and are in possession of photos of the murdered, lists of victims or other useful documentation to contact the Chief Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation Branch Office in Lublin.
