Representatives of the archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited the Institute of National Remembrance; 3-5 June 2019

From 3-5 June 2019, representatives of the archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited the Institute of National Remembrance. The delegation was chaired by the Director of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Jamilja Abdukadyrov.

During a meeting with the guests Prof. Krzysztof Szwagrzyk - Deputy President of the Institute of National Remembrance and Marzena Kruk - Director of the IPN Archive discussed the prospects of cooperation in the field of obtaining, processing and publishing documents.

On 4-5 June, as part of two symposia, the representatives of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the archives of the cities of Almaty and Nur-Sultan talked about digital information systems operating in the Kazakh archives, the collection of documents concerning the deportation of Poles and representatives of other nationalities to Kazakhstan, as well as the functioning of regional archives. The employees of the IPN Archive, on the other hand, presented the Digital Archive and characterized the documents and archival aids of the Center for Information on the Victims of World War II.

During the visit, the guests also had an opportunity to see selected archival storage rooms and card archives, the conservation workshop and the  digitization studio.
