On 5 June 2018, upon the request of the Ukrainian side, a meeting of the Deputy President of the Institute of National Remembrance, Prof. Krzysztof Szwagrzyk with the President of the Ukrainian World Congress Eugene Czolij took place at the headquarters of the IPN in Warsaw. The meeting was also attended by: Marina Yaroshevich - Director of the Office of the Ukrainian World Congress in Brussels, Piotr Tyma , Chairman of the Union of Ukrainians in Poland, Mirosław Kupicz - Secretary of the Board of the Union of Ukrainians in Poland, Dr Jerzy Bednarek - Deputy Director of the Historical Research Office of the Institute of National Remembrance and Dr Dorota Lewsza from the Division of International Relations at the IPN.
During the meeting, the participants touched upon topics related to extending the scope of existing Polish-Ukrainian archival and historical cooperation, the activities of the Ukrainian World Congress, as well as issues related to Polish and Ukrainian memorial sites.
The Ukrainian side further expressed their gratitude for allowing specialists from Ukraine to participate in the archaeological work which was carried out last month at the municipal cemetery in Hruszowice.
