The President of the Institute of National Remembrance Karol Nawrocki Ph.D., officially opened the 16th "Polish Diaspora Meetings with Modern History" convention for teachers on 4 July 2022. The 10-day event will acquaint educators with the Institute’s research, resources and educational materials, helpful in their work back home.

"I would like to thank all of you very much not only for today’s meeting but also for your effort in making sure that, through your hard work, Polish history is not being forgotten in all of the places you have come here from," said Karol Nawrocki to 53 participants from 21 countries.

The main part of the convention will be held in Vilnius and is going to focus on Poland’s history seen from the perspective of our neighbors. The educators will be familiarized with the latest projects by the IPN National Education Office. They will also have an opportunity to visit historical locations.

The "Polish Diaspora Meetings with Modern History" program has been prepared to cater for the needs of people teaching Polish history and the Polish language in schools, in Polish classes, parish schools or other educational institutions abroad.
