"Cyphers Game" - the latest gaming project by the Institute of National Remembrance

On 1 April 2022, the latest computer game produced by the IPN's New Technology Division was presented during a press conference held in the Reduta Bank Polski in Warsaw.

The press conference was attended by the IPN President Karol Nawrocki, Ph.D. and Magdalena Hajduk, Director of the New Technology Division.

"Cyphers Game" is a gaming project prepared as a FPP (first person perspective) game, consisting of three missions. They describe the course of the Polish-Bolshevik war and the contribution of Polish cryptology to its victorious end.

The game features were accurately reproduced from historical exhibits. The players' missions reflect historical events. Each of the characters has a different task that is crucial for the results of the battle. This 3D game takes the player into the world of the conflict that established European order for the next two decades. The story begins at the end of 1920, when the battle for Korosten — a key railroad junction and technical and supply base — is underway.

The game will be available for free on Steam platform. It can also be downloaded from the AppStore and the Play Store. It will run on VR goggles, Windows PCs and mobile devices supported by iOS and Android.

During the launch users had a chance to learn about the game through playing on PC devices and in two VR zones.
