The event is held on 13—14 December 2021 (Monday-Tuesday) at the Janusz Kurtyka Educational Centre in Warsaw. The session was inaugurated by the President of the IPN, Karol Nawrocki, Ph.D. The introductory lecture was delivered by Antoni Dudek, Ph.D., D.Sc.

The obvious reason for the conference is the 40th anniversary of the introduction of Martial Law in Poland. It is also an opportunity to sum up the events of the years 1981—1989. The debate focused on the political history of that period. The conference consisted of 28 speeches of well-known historians, the prosecutor's lecture, and a panel of sociologists and political scientists.

Questions related to the conference may be answered by: Robert Spałek, Ph.D. robert.spalek@ipn.gov.pl
