Indiana University in Bloomington, one of the leading American universities, hosted two important presentations on 10th and 11th of September.


President of the Institute, Dr. Łukasz Kamiński opened "Operation AB - Katyń. The Destruction of the Polish Elite at the Beginning of World War II” exhibition at the Mathers Museum of World Cultures. The exposition was prepared by the Office of Public Education in Warsaw. The opening was followed by Dr. Kamiński’s lecture entitled "The Archives of Dictatorship: between Politics and Justice". Afterwards, Dr. Kamiński was interviewed with the
WFIU university radio station.

 

The next day event was the presentation of the English-language publication entitled "Poland and Ukraine in the 1930s and 1940s. Documents from the Archives of the Secret Services. The book is a summary of 17- year long cooperation of Polish and Ukrainian historians and archivists. The presentation was attended by members of the Polish - Ukrainian working group and Professor Hiroaki Kuromiya from Indiana University, author of the introduction to the book.

Both events were organized by Prof. Padraic Kenney, Head of Polish Studies Center at Indiana University.
