Historians of the Branch Public Education Office in Warsaw visit Paris – December, 10-13 2009

On December 10-13, 2009 in the Polish section of the International Secondary School in Saint Germain en Laye and in the Montaigne Secondary School in Paris dr. Tomasz Łabuszewski and Jacek Pawłowicz from the Branch Public Education Office in Warsaw will conduct a series of lectures on modern Polish history. The program of the visit also entails a meeting with Polish veterans living in Paris and in the Paris region. During the meetings a presentation of the Institute’s publications will be held. It will include the album Rotamaster Witold Pilecki 1901-1948” which won the Readers Prize in the second edition of the "Historical Book of the Year."

December 10 (Thursday)

10.00-15.00 - classes at the International Secondary School in Saint Germain en Laye

December 11 (Friday)

10.00-15.00 - classes in the Montaigne Secondary School

13 December (Sunday)

11.00-17.00 - Meeting with Polish veterans living in Paris and in the Paris region

  • Lecture by Jacek Pawłowicz "Rotamaster Witold Pilecki 1901-1948" (and the promotion of the album)
  • Screening of "Death of Rotamaster Pilecki"
  • Lecture by dr. Tomasz Łabuszewskiego "The armed independence underground of 1944-1953 - choice or necessity"
  • Screening of "The word of honor"
