Janusz Kurtyka, the President of the IPN meets with Walentin Naliwajczenko, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine

On August 3, 2009 Janusz Kurtyka, the President of the Institute of National Remembrance met in Kiev with Walentin Naliwajczenko, the Security Service of Ukraine chief. During the meeting they discussed the current cooperation projects, including a joint publication of ‘The Great Terror of the years 1937-1938 in Ukraine. The Polish operation’ and an album about Chernobyl. Janusz Kurtyka has also referred to Naliwajczenko’s speech on the ‘Łącki prison’ from June this year and presented the Polish point of view on the matter. Also, an agreement broadening the cooperation between the Institute and the Security Service has been signed. It, inter alia, concerns the exchange of archival material and joint edition of sources.
