A delegation from South Korea at the IPN headquarters, 26 June Warsaw

On 26 June, a delegation from South Korea - representatives of the Institute for Unification Education, Ministry of Unification of the Republic of Korea - paid a visit to the Institute of National Remembrance. The delegation was headed by Dr Park Kwangho – Director General for Education Planning at the Institute.

 

The Institute of National Remembrance was represented by: Dr Rafał Leśkiewicz, Deputy Director of the Historical Research Office , Dr. Paweł Błażewicz, Deputy Director of the IPN’s National Education Office, and Dr Marek Hańderek from the Historical Research Office, dealing with the history of the Korean Peninsula.

The guests were presented with the structure, goals, mission and main activities of the Institute, primarily in the field of research and education. Major projects of the IPN in the field of historical research and education were discussed during the meeting. The hosts also talked about a wide range of training proposals prepared for students and teachers.

 

The guests from Korea were particularly interested in Polish experiences in the field of political transformation and the social debate accompanying the establishment of the Institute of National Remembrance.

 

Possible future cooperation in the field of study visits of Korean officials at the Institute were also discussed.

Previous delegations from the Ministry of Unification of the Republic of Korea visited the IPN in March 2017 and in November 2017.
