We are starting recruitment for an educational conference "Polonia's Meetings with Recent History". Applications until 31 May 2019.

In 2019, the thirteenth edition of the conference for educators working outside the country is taking place on 2-12 July 2019 near Warsaw. The event is organized by the National Education Office of the Institute of National Remembrance within the Polish Community Programme of the BEN IPN. The main objective of the course is substantive and methodical support of teaching recent history outside the country.

Only teachers-practitioners and educational animators - people who teach Polish history and language in Polish schools, Polish classes, parish schools or other Polish educational institutions abroad - are invited to participate in "Polonia meetings ...".

Not only will the conference participants listen to lectures, but they will also participate in workshops. The topics of the lectures relate to the history of Poland in the years 1939-1945. The theoretical classes will be accompanied by workshops on the use of source texts and historical games in class and drama classes.

A detailed agenda of the course will have been posted on the ipn.gov.pl website by the end of May.

The course is free of charge. Furthermore, the organizers provide catering and accommodation in double rooms with a tourist standard. The number of places is limited.

Should you be interested in participating in the conference, please complete the application form at: http://pamiec.pl/pa/form/dodaj235,XIII-Polonijne-Spotkania-z-Historia-Najnowsza.html

To complete the form, you will need an electronic version of the description of the educational activity carried out, confirmed by your supervisor. The deadline for submitting applications is 31 May 2019.
