The exhibition opening was attended, among others, by the Consul General of the Republic of Poland Mateusz Stąsiek, the head of the IPN Archive branch in Wrocław Tomasz Balbus, Ph.D. and the President of the Social and Cultural Center Marek Laskiewicz, Ph.D.

With the "Trails of Hope. The Odyssey of Freedom" exhibit we demonstrate how Poles fought for their freedom and also carried freedom to other nations, said the IPN President Karol Nawrocki, Ph.D.

The President of the IPN also met with representatives of emigration institutions and the Polish community living in the UK and presented the Institute's achievements and its most important goals.

The "Trails of Hope. The Odyssey of Freedom" is to be carried out in the years 2021-2025, and planned to cover three continents that the Anders' Army went through, as well as the places where the soldiers and civilians finally ended up. The project objective is to educate the public on Polish determination and commitment to free Europe from totalitarian regimes.
