The IPN's delegation in New York

On 2-7 March 2018, a delegation of the Institute of National Remembrance composed of Deputy President of the Institute of National Remembrance and Director of the Office for Research and Identification Prof. Krzysztof Szwagrzyk, and Deputy Director of the Office for Research and Identification Anna Szeląg, is visiting New York.

Representatives of the IPN are accompanied by a delegation of the Military Historical Office, headed by its Director and member of the Council of the Institute of National Remembrance - prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz.

On Saturday, 3 March, the delegation visited the Józef Piłsudski Institute, where Prof. Krzysztof Szwagrzyk and Anna Szeląg gave a lecture "Poland is looking for heroes" on the subject of exploratory work carried out by the Office for Search and Identification of the Institute of National Remembrance, and Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz presented a paper on the specifics of military archives in Poland.

On Sunday, 4 March, the delegation participated in the New York edition of the "Tropem Wilczym" Run. The ceremony was officially opened by the Deputy President of the IPN Prof. Krzysztof Szwagrzyk, and together with the Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz gave the winners the cups.

On 5 March at the Polish Consulate General in New York the official opening of the IPN exhibition ">>Łączka<<. The National Pantheon under the Cemetery Wall ", documenting the stages of search and exhumation of victims of the communist regime, took place. The overall message of the exhibition as well as its nature  were discussed by Kamila Sachnowska from the Office of the Search and Identification of the Institute of National Remembrance. The opening of the exhibition was accompanied by lectures by Prof. Krzysztof Szwagrzyk and Anna Szeląg on the subject of exploration work in Poland and the Eastern Borderlands, and a lecture by prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz, who outlined the activities of the Military Historical Office.

On 6 March a lecture was given by IPN representatives at the Cultural Foundation in Clark, New Jersey, where the third edition of the IPN’s ‘History Point” started.
